1. Pickup.

2. Arrival at Zamboanga City Hall.
The van drops you at the edge of the Heritage Zone, right at Zamboanga City Hall, a National Historical Site raised by the American colonial government between 1905 and 1907. From here, the rest of the tour is on foot.
3. Plaza Pershing and Rizal Park.
Walk the two plazas that sit right beside City Hall, shaded by heritage trees the city protects by ordinance. These twin parks have been Zamboanga’s civic heart since the early 1900s.
4. Pettit Barracks.
A short walk brings you to the ruins of Pettit Barracks, once home to the US Army’s 43rd Infantry Regiment and named after Colonel James S. Pettit. Only an old gate arch still stands today, a quiet marker of the city’s American era.
5. Fort Pilar Shrine.
From Pettit Barracks it is about a five minute walk to Fort Pilar, the 17th-century Spanish fort that has stood watch over Zamboanga since 1635. Step through its stone walls to see the open-air shrine built into its eastern wall.
6. National Museum.
Inside Fort Pilar’s grounds, duck into the National Museum‘s branch for a look at marine life dioramas, relics from the 18th-century Griffin shipwreck, and artifacts from the Yakan, Subanun, and Sama communities.
7. Paseo del Mar.
Finish the walk at Paseo del Mar, the waterfront promenade just past the fort, for open views of the bay before heading back.
8. Return transfer.
